Hi
I have applied for renewal of my PR card on 24th of April 2015 , I have checked its status online and it says (in process) . They have received it on 24th of April and have started its processing on 27th July.
I would like to know how they calculate the processing time, should i consider for example 125 days from 27th July or from 24th of April.
My second question is that I am out of Canada now and my PR card expires at the end of September 2015 so I am worry about that , I would like to know if usually they mail our new card to the previous address or we have to receive it at their office .(my address is in Toronto)
Thanks and regards, Aliz

Hello Aliz,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
According to a CIC representative, it is from the date CIC receives your application. So that would mean you would calculate from the 24th of April.
Regarding your second question, you can find some detailed information on the CIC Website in the Help Centre - Will I get my permanent resident card by mail? section.
Here is an excerpt,
"Most permanent residents in Canada replacing or renewing their PR card will receive it by mail.
However, some permanent residents who are renewing or replacing their PR card will need to pick it up at a local CIC office.
If you need to pick up your card, we will contact you to schedule an appointment. If you cannot go to your appointment, you can reschedule it with the local office. If you do not pick up your card within 180 days, it will be destroyed and you will have to re-apply."
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
