Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

According to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre, it is not illegal to send your PR card by Canada Post.

However, it is very important to note that it is a risk because of the possibility of it being lost in the mail. If it is lost, that means you will have to re-apply.

It is important to be aware of the whereabouts of your documents at all times.

We suggest that you contact the the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly for information specific to your situation.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
