Hello, My husband's passport was requested from the Pretoria (South Africa) CIC office to issue his PR visa. While we wait is he able to book a one way ticket to Canada? Will he need to provide any visa information when booking since it will be his first time ever landing in Canada? They said it will take roughly 90 days to process and we are planning to land in Canada at the beginning of January together.
Thank you, Brittney

Hello Brittney,
Thank you for sharing your husband's situation and question with us.
You may want to contact the airline you are interested in booking the ticket with just to confirm that he can board with a one-way ticket and a permanent resident visa.
According to the ENF 27 Permanent Resident Card,
A transporter must, at the time of boarding, examine the documents of all persons it carries to Canada to ensure that they are the documents prescribed in R259. The transporter must refuse to allow any improperly documented person to board a vehicle destined for Canada.
We have had other users state in the past that it has been possible for them to travel with to Canada with a one-way ticket with the purposes of landing while having a Permanent Resident Visa.
We hope that others can share their experiences and suggestions with you.
Again, it is important that you confirm with the airline you intend to travel with.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
