Hi there
I am married to a Canadian and we current live in New Zealand with 3 kids all under 6. My wife has been offered a job in Canada and we are investigating immigrating to take up the opportunity.
I have read the Canada Immigration website a number of times and keep stumbling on a gap in information for what options are available in the interim between applying and being granted Family Sponsorship which outside of Canada is currently saying 17 months. In order to take up this opportunity we would like to move in 4. We'd need to take the kids in as dependents on the back of my visa until we can get certificates of citizenship issued (8 months from NZ).
So could someone please point me in the direction of where/ what I should be reading about heading to Canada while an application is being processed.
Thanks David

Hello David,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
You mentioned the outside Canada processing time. From your post it sounds as though your spouse, as a Canadian Citizen has already started the sponsorship application process from outside Canada.
It may be helpful to read some of our previous Settlement.Org Which is better for sponsorship inside or outside? discussion thread.
It may give you some ideas related to being in Canada while a sponsorship application is in process.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
