Activation of PR without Principal Applicant?

Hi, my husband is the primary applicant. Right now he is still working in Europe and I prepare our future here. I have a visa for 6 months, the application is done long time ago, all is paid (fees etc), all documents are sent. My questions: 1)How we get the PR? I mean - is there a acceptance letter in the mail? Or will we get an information within an e-mail? 2)Can I activate the PR without my husband if we get the PR in the time I'm still in Toronto?
Thank you! Regards Nico

Hi
1. If you are from a visa exempt country, you will be asked to submit copies of passports and you will be sent a Confirmation of Permanent Residence in the mail. If you are from a country that requires a visitor visa to enter Canada, you will be requested to send your passport to the processing office, where a "visa sticker" will be placed in your passport and the COPR will be mailed back with your passport. 2. No, you can't "land" before the principal applicant.
