Heloo Sir,
Good Morning,

I was following the cases for a baby born outside Canada , and i found a good articles , about the approach. However i found some articles stating that , the new baby even if i go to Canada after getting TRP or Visa and sponsor my baby from there , the baby will not be allowed for
receiving social assistance and I need to address in his application how my dependent child will be able to be supported financially. is this only feasible for the period where he does not have a PRC(let us assume three months) or even after getting a PRC also these rules will applied?

Thank you so much for your reply

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

You can find some detailed information on the Ministry of Community and Social Services Website in the Ontario Works Policy Directives - 3.11 Sponsored Immigrants section.

Here is an excerpt,

Sponsor must provide financial support for 10 years from the date that person became a permanent resident or until the child turns 25 years of age, whichever comes first.

You may want to contact the nearest Ontario Works Office directly for some information specific to your situation.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
