1. No, you have to wait until you have the 2 years residency on the date you apply for renewal.

You must wait until after July 2, 2107 to apply.
You cannot apply before you meet the residency requirement. If you apply before you have 730 days of residency - then you will be refused.
You cannot sign and submit your renewal application to CIC until after you have met the residency requirement.

Thank you for your replies.
In that case, can I apply immediately after I meet 730 days . Like as in my case , on July 3 , can I sign my renewal form?
And Wat can I do to travel out on July for around 1 month ? Can I go out and come back after I apply for renewal ?
My pr card has expiry date of August 7 2017, but As far as I know 5 years duration is calculated according to my first landing right? Which was July 10, 2012.
Can I use my pr card till August 7 to return back to canada after I have applied for renewal on July 3??
How long after can I get my pr card renewed?
My family live here, but I m 29 years old unmarried. So does this have any positive affect on my pr card renewal?

Hello Anupama,
As stated above by others, as a permanent resident, you may travel outside Canada after you arrive. However, you must meet certain residency obligations to maintain your status as a permanent resident.
To meet these residency obligations, you must be physically present in Canada for at least 730 days (2 years) in every 5-year period.
This means that you can spend a total of up to 3 years outside of Canada during a 5-year period. However, if you have been a permanent resident for less than 5 years and decide to leave the country for an extended period of time, it is up to you to prove to Citizenship and Immigration Canada that you will be able to meet your residency requirements.
The onus is on each individual permanent resident to meet their own residency requirements. This means that it is up to you to ensure that you are meeting the residency requirement within each 5 year period and that you are also keeping track of your time spent inside and outside Canada.
To find out if someone has fulfilled their residency requirements, each time a Permanent Resident re-enters Canada, the Officer will count back 5 years from the date the permanent resident has re-entered Canada.
In that 5 year period, if the permanent resident has not accumulated 2 years (730 days) of physical presence in Canada, then it may be determined that the permanent resident has lost their PR status.
You may want to contact the the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre for clarification.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

I have queries about pr card renewal and my travel need immediately after that. I am keeping track of my residency. I ll meet 2 years at the end of 5 years duration.
