My husband sponsored his son from Jamaica and he came to Canada last summer and is now a PR. Life has been a disaster, he was misbehaving continuously, fighting at school, stealing and just not conforming to our rules. We ended up sending him back to Jamaica last month to his mother. Is there any way we can terminate his sponsorship agreement? Although we kept his PR card in our possession, his mom is saying she will just put him on a plane back to Canada to live with her aunt or worse, instruct him to take a cab to our doorstep. Would she be able to somehow apply for and obtain the emergency travel document that could allow him back without his actual PR card? Would my husband be obligated to keep him?

1. No, you can't terminate his PR status. Your sponsorship obligations runs until he is 22. 2. Yes, his mother could apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document for him to return to Canada.
