When I went to Services Ontario to get new pictured OHIP card I found out my birth certificate was not acceptable and i have to get another one from Manitoba. They say it will take 6-8 weeks to get one from them.

Will this effect my OHIP coverage.

This was the first request from you to get a new card.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

As you may know, the Settlement.Org website provides information and referrals related to services in Ontario including OHIP. Therefore, unfortunately, we do not have information that is specifically related to anyone's files or Health cards. We are not responsible for sending out requests to apply for new Health cards.

Unfortunately, in this case we are unable to provide you with a definitive response regarding your OHIP coverage.

For information specific to your situation we suggest that you contact the
Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care directly to see if they can provide you some information related to your application and if your coverage will be affected. You can also find some contact information here:

ServiceOntario, INFOline at:
1-866-532-3161 (Toll-free in Ontario only)
TTY 1-800-387-5559.
In Toronto, TTY 416-327-4282
Hours of operation : 8:30am - 5:00pm

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
