Hi,

i would like to ask for information regarding visa application or travel documents.

I am a permanent resident residing for 1 year now in canada and i have the opportunity to do an internship in Denmark.

My question is that- would it affect my citizenship if i leave the country for 3 months?

Can i geta travel document stating that im a permaneny resident in canada rather than travelling with a Philippine passport?

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

If by "citizenship" you are referring to your permanent residency status, to meet your residency requirement, you must be physically present in Canada for 730 days (2 years) in every 5-year period.

You can find some additional information regarding the residency requirements in our Settlement.Org What are the residency requirements for permanent residents (PRs)? article.

If you are referring to applying for citizenship later, the time spent outside Canada in this capacity will not be counted as time towards meeting the Canadian Citizenship requirement.

You can find some additional information regarding the requirements for applying for Canadian Citizenship in our Settlement.Org How do I apply for Canadian Citizenship? article.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
