No pet urination/defecation on grass

I live in a rental building in Toronto which allows pets as per the rental agreement I signed. The building has a large side and backyard area which was part of the appeal of the building. There are signs posted to poop & scoop and to keep pets on a leash, which I strictly adhere to.
Yesterday new signs were posted all over the building (inside and out) that pets are not allowed to urinate, or defecate on the grass/property. Many of the building's exits lead out to the grass so it's a ridiculous request. What are pet owners rights here? If my dog is leashed and I pick up after it can they evict me just because they hung a sign on the lawn? Please advise!
