Hi all.

I am a twenty something who has never rented in her life, so I have no references when I rent. I have a mother who can afford to pay-and I CAN afford to pay rent, having a trustfund-but she's emotionally abused me all my life and I'm trying to cut ties with her. I've developed one or two chronic illnesses and going out on my own is the only option to try and recover to the best of my ability considering everything.

Is there an exception for these types of situations? Could someone give me a link to dealing with this dilemma? Is there a clause or something that I can invoke when the time comes? Is there some type of form I can print and show my landlord and they'll make an exception, taking a leap of faith and trust me despite no rental history? I'd be a very good tenant... non-smoker. non-drinker. no criminal record. non-partyer. keep my business to my business.
