When can my Son Apply for Canadian Citizenship?

I am a canadian citizen by naturalisation and my spouse is not canadian. Recently, a son was born in the family.I am presently living out of Canada. can my son apply for citizenship at the age of 15 and get it.will it be better if he applies now or at the age of 15.

1. Actually your son is a Canadian citizen by decent now, as he would be the first generation born abroad. You can apply for proof of citizenship at any time you wish. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof.asp
