Landlord Asking Us To Pay 2 Extra Weeks

Hello, we gave our notice to move out of our appt, on feb 12 (payed for march and the building maintenance are demanding us to pay for 2 extra weeks in march because we didn't give 2 months notice even though we said they could do showings whenever .)
The thing is, we never signed a lease and we gave them the notice ASAP.
We had been living for over 2 months with a broken bathroom sink, and we never had a fan in the kitchen and bathroom, which made the walls have moisture, nobody came to fix it.
We never met the landlord and we've been demanding for his phone # but they refused to give it to us.
We are really not encouraged to pay for those extra 3 week that we are not living there.
What should we do?
Please help!
