Hello, I got my COPR last week with my marital status incorrectly mentioned as 'Married'. I'm a divorcee and had mentioned it clearly in my application for FSW-Outland PR. Had attached the divorce decree dated July 28, 2016 too. Date of COPR - September 14, 2017. Should I have it corrected by sending the original divorce decree's copy to CIC? The visa stamped on my passport also clearly states 'Admit one person'. I live in India and intend to land in Toronto by March 2018. I raised a request in the IRCC Web Form - New Delhi link, but haven't heard back from them. Apparently, they will respond in 30 days. I was also wondering if this can fixed at the Port of Entry (Toronto) by showing my original divorce decree to the immigration visa officer, or should I get it corrected here in India and only then land in Toronto. I know minor errors like misspelled names, gender, etc can be corrected at the POE, but how about marital status? Any information on this will be really helpful. Thank you. C A Patel.

Hello C A Patel,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
We can appreciate that you would be concerned about this error on your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
We have contacted the Immigrant, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre for some information regarding how you should proceed.
They stated that it is best that you contact the nearest Canadian Visa Office in order to have them verify your file to see what this status/error was based on and what your options are in this situation.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hi, Anna.
Thank you very much for your timely response. Kindly note that I have already escalated about this error to the New Delhi Visa Office via IRCC Web Form - New Delhi on September 18, 2017, and received an automated email from them stating they will get back to me after 30 days. I shall wait for their reply.
However, could you please find out from IRCC if this error of incorrect marital status can be corrected at the Port of Entry (Toronto) if I show them all the necessary documentation (divorce decree) on the day of landing? I had mentioned my marital status as 'divorced' in my Express Entry profile, as well as in my PR application request on CIC website, so the error will be clearly evident to the visa officer at the Port of Entry. Or do you think this will result in deportation?
Any guidance on this will be greatly appreciated. :)
Warm regards, C A Patel.

Hello I received my COPR about 10 days back but marital status shows single yet I informed IRCC about my change of status and had my spouse added on my profile...Since she is non accompanying at the moment with me to Canada I had updated the same to IRCC as well and sent them the revised generic form which they had asked me to update..The issue is I received a COPR with a wrong marital status yet on the same doc it shows spouse details below.. I raised a webform informing them of this error and after a few days, my profile got updated to processing application again yet it was approved previously having got the visa and COPR...not sure what to do..Can anyone help..
