Hi everyone,

I would like to ask some guidance regarding with me and my mothers situation.

I am applying for a student visa for Canada.

I am hesitant about the process within the immigration.

I was not declared as a child with my mothers application before when she applied for Canada.

She is now already a PR and on the process for applying for a citizenship.

My problem is that, will her application for Citizenship may be compromised because I need to put her name on my application for my student visa.

(She is not sponsoring my application) I am independently applying for the student visa.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a definitive response regarding this type of application process and this situation.

It is best that someone contact the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre directly for some information specific to this situation.

They do not have to provide any personally identifying information in order to ask a question.

You or your mother may also want to contact a lawyer who is familiar with Canadian Immigration issues for some advice regarding this situation.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
