I am currently on a one-year post-graduate work permit; it expires in August 2018.
My partner is Canadian; I am American. We are trying to submit our spousal sponsorship application by April 2018.
Can I apply for an open work permit along with my spousal sponsorship application? Similarly, can I continue working while I am waiting for both applications to process? I am currently on a .428 continuing contract with a Canadian high school and would like to continue working there while my applications are being processed.
