Friends,

Was outside Canada and lost PR card. Applied for PRTD, got it and now at home.
In cover letter which I wrote to support my PRTD application I mentioned that my PR card is lost.

Now found the card when unpack my luggage (wow!). Still valid for 4 years, and I don't want experience application hassle. I did not submit neither application to renew PR card nor solemn declaration yet.

Question: is my PR card valid (=not revoked)?

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

If you are worried about losing your PR status, losing your permanent resident status does not happen automatically.

In terms having declared your PR card as lost when you received your PRTD, you may want to contact the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada Call Centre to find out what your next steps should be.

You can contact them here:

1-888-242-2100 (In Canada Only)

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
