Hello,
me and my family received Confirmation of Permanent Residency and will be landing in Toronto in a month.
I have a question about bringing my personal jewelry: I have a small number of gold and silver items; they are all for personal use and most of them were given to me as a present and I don't know their value.
Even if I bought something myself, I cannot remember their value.
What do I indicate on the list of belongings?

Jewellery
Describe each item of jewellery you plan to bring into Canada on the list of goods you submit. Since jewellery is difficult to describe accurately, it is best to use the wording from your insurance policy or jeweller's appraisal and to include photographs that have been dated and signed by jeweller or gemologist. This makes it easier to identify the jewellery when you first enter Canada, and later when you return from abroad with the jewellery.

The Border Information Service (BIS) is an automated telephone service that answers incoming calls and provides general information on CBSA programs, services and initiatives.
