Dear Sir / Mdm
I have applied for The PR Card and am still waiting for it to be processed. Meanwhile, I have a confirmed flight to travel to Vancouver on July 20, 2018.
IF my PR Card Application has not been processed by the time I am scheduled to leave, can I apply for The Travel Document ? Do note that The Travel Document was granted to me in 2017 and has since expired. If I apply for another one, would I be granted while waiting for The PR Card Application to be processed ? I would need to apply for The Travel Document at the soonest possible for it to be issued before my departure date.
Would very much appreciate your advice.
Thank you very much

Hello, Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
According to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre, there is no minimum or maximum times that you can apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document .
They did state that you may need to provide an explanation regarding the situation, including whereabouts of your PR card and why you are unable to use your PR card.
We have had some of our users previously state that they have been able to contact IRCC from abroad by dialing 1 613 944 4000. Listen to the options to get to IRCC. Then you should be transferred to the IRCC Call Centre.
Please note though we are not sure if this number continues to work this way.
You may want to give it a try.
Please be aware that long distance charges will apply.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation. ===== Anna Settlement.Org Content and Information/Referral Specialist, CIRS Settlement.Org
