Hello,

I am on a lease agreement of 1 year which ends on the 31st of January'19.

Since I didn't want to extend my lease beyond 31st January'19, I went to the leasing office on 1st December'18 to give notice.
The leasing office told me that i have to give a notice before the end of month and since I came on the 1st of December my notice period for 60 days would begin from 31st of december to end of february'19. They forced me to sign for 28th February'19 as my end of notice period and even if i wanted to move out on the 31st January'19 i will still have to pay the rent for the month of February.

I pay my monthly rent on 1st of every month and have given the notice on the 1st of December'18 which makes it 60 days till 31st January'19 which is the end of the Month.

Please let me as if i am not fulfilling the rules as per the tenancy agreement or is the leasing office trying to force one month of extra rent from me.

What should I do.

Thanks,
Sunny
