Landlord Being Overbearing - What Are My Rights?

Hi there,
So I recently moved into a new apartment and in my lease agreement it says that cleaners are to clean my apartment once a month. I asked my landlord if I can opt out of this because of privacy reasons and for the simple fact that I do not want people in my home I do not know while I am not there, and he told be that because it's in the contract I have no option to opt out.
I do not believe this to be true and I want to know what my rights are as a tenant. Thank You :)

Hello As with most apartments our hallways and entrances are installed with fire doors that are constructed with wood and saftey glass (some fire door) Our superintedent has stated these doors must remain closed which is restricting air flow and the temperture often climbs into the mid 80's of a bigger concern is that we have a few handicapped tenants they are wheel chair bound and have trouble opening the doors as there is no automated openers in the hallway entrances. We have been threatened that habitual complainers will be evicted. Can you advise on this issue please. Thanks
