Making a posting on this site is not self evident and neither is asking a question. Please make this easier to do for a new user of the site.

First page obstructed by contents menu

The table of contents overlaps the first page making it difficult to read. There seems not to be a way of closing the table of contents or making it back away so as not to cause an obstruction. Please make an adjustment to the website so that this does not occur and that the website is more useful.

Hi,
I have been charged on January 2018 for assault and the case has been withdrawn on October 2019.
I applied for my citizenship for my all family and me as one group application on April 2018 .
The immigration asked only me to do a fingerprint on November 2018 which I did .
Then On January 2019 the immigration sent a letter asking for a court information statement to know the status on my court case ...I sent to them the court information statement shows that the case has been Withdrawn On Oct 2018.
My Questions are :
  • does this case affect my application ?
  • I did my application by myself so I didn't know that I should write about it in my the application, So does it be reason to affect my application even that the case has been withdrawn?
  • If it will affect my application, Does it affect my family applications as well ?
  • is it better to ask the immigration to cebreats my family applications ?
  • If it will affect my application, What the next step should I do ?
Thank you for your support

Hi... I would like to have an idea on which possibilities I have to migrate to Canada.
I'm from Cuba but we (my wife, my son and I) are living in Dominican Republic, legally of course!!!
I have a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences, more than 20 years of research and teaching experience; and I consider that I perform well in communication, writing, and comprehension of the English Language and I can communicate in French.

Hope you can help me...

My son reapplied for a renewal of his PR card in 2015. His documents were sent to a wrong address. When he reapplied again he received a letter stating immigration no longer receives statutory declarations as proof of identity and that he will need to renew his passport he used for entry or submit a record of landing of which we never received paper documents when we became permanent residents. So, he opted to apply for a record of landing. My son waited for 3 years without hearing anything from immigration until he decided to call to find out about his application. The person he spoke too stated the document was sent via email only to be told a wrong email address was used to send the document. My son has given up and feels he will never get his card renewed. Please l ask for your advice on what he should do with this matter. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I want to ask about the rights of children after divorce. I have been officially divorced by a court decision. I have 23 and 24 years old children(not working). Now they demand that I pay fees for their study.
Can you tell me please Is there any age limit for such claims? Or I should continue paying till they die.

I have been renting an apartment with my daughter who is now an adult, I have requested for her name to be added to the lease and my landlord refused with a simple NO, without reason. Now that I have taken on responsibility to care for ill father, I requested again for my daughter to be added onto the lease to receive housing supports, my landlord is now threatening to take back the apartment bc Im not present in the apartment and he wants to increase the rent from 896 - 1200.00 - i have already paid annual increase at the beginning of the year. Is this legal for him to take my apartment back and/or raise the rent at such a large increase without notice?

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

Once she returns, she may want to get some information from a Family Law lawyer or contact a Family Law Information Centre (FLIC) directly.

Information and Referral Coordinators at a Family Law Information Centre (FLIC) can provide information about separation and divorce and related family law issues, family justice services, alternative forms of dispute resolution, local community resources and court processes.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
