Name On Lease

My wife and I moved into an apartment in Toronto back in the early 80s.
At the time the lease was signed, my name was not included on the lease. We separated and finally divorced in 2006. I stayed in the apartment and have been paying the rent and all bills from my account since 2006. There is talk of the building may be demolished in the near future and an indication that some compensation and assistance to re-house tenants will be made available when and if the time comes.
Will my name not being on the original lease signed in 1983 have any bearing upon this?
Any guidance in the matter will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
