How to apply, processing time, if you're outside of Canada...

Hi,

My card was received and started processing on 3rd December, 2018. In January end the call center told me that it is sent to the local office for the second review. I have not received any updated till now.

anyone else experiencing same delay issue. the processing time online is now 27 days :(

If the processing time as indicated by IRCC has passed, you may want to try and contact them again a bit later to try and see if they have any additional information regarding your PR card.

You can contact the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre directly at:

1-888-242-2100 (In Canada Only)

We also hope that others who have experienced something similar can share their experiences and suggestions with you.

1. Note the OP's PR card was sent to a local office for secondary review, which is an indication that either the person had not fulfilled the Residency obligations, or for a quality review. In these cases the normal processing time (presently 27 days for renewal) no longer applies.

See below is my status and I am still waiting.
What I am thinking is I will eligible to apply for Citizenship before they send my PR.
Permanent Resident Card
  • We received your application for a permanent resident card on July 19, 2018.
  • We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on October 14, 2018.
  • We started processing your application on October 14, 2018.
  • We sent you correspondence on February 11, 2019. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
