Doctor Refuses to Let my Husband in Appointment

Not sure if I'm in the right spot to ask this question.
Manulife has stopped paying my long term disability after working for LHSC for almost 29 years.
They want me to see one of there doctors but he won't allow my husband to come into the appointment with me.
Is that legal?
