Hello,

Is there any international dentist out here who has given the NDEB exams? The entire procedure takes about 2-3 years and I need help in what to do meanwhile.

Many students say they do a dental assisting course and work as an assistant but how does that help your resume become more impressive?

Does being an assistant really give brownie points when you put yourself out there in this competitive market or is there any other related course you can enroll in which will aid in the future?

Hello There,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

The Ontario Dental Assistants Association has a section on certification protocols for internationally educated people

Regarding the HARP certification, you may want to contact he X-Ray Inspection Service (XRIS) department, from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. According to the National Dental Assisting Examining Board:
the NDAEB Certificate does not represent HARP Certification in Ontario. The HARP Certificate is a separate provincial requirement in Ontario. For more information, please contact the X-Ray Inspection Service (XRIS) department, from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, by phone at : (416) 327-7937 ; by fax: (416)327-8805; or by email: [email protected].

We hope this information is helpful. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to post them here.

Sincerely,

Your Settlement.Org Team
