I am looking for creating a living will. DO not need an attorney since they charge too high. He/she needs to be knowledgeable enough in this field and could explain me the consequences etc. Please provide any contacts

Hello There,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
For legal information on this subject, Steps to Justice has answered some popular questions about wills and power of attorney. Steps to Justice also has a compiled list of programs and services across Ontario that can help you create a will, some of which are free or low-cost. The first organization listed is Pro Bono Ontario, a free legal advice hotline. Here is a blurb:
The hotline can give you 30 minutes of free legal help and advice over the telephone on civil law matters, which include:
- employment
- housing
- consumer issues
- Powers of Attorney
- corporate law for charities, non-profits, and small businesses
It doesn’t help with family law or criminal law problems. The hotline generally accepts calls Monday to Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 12 noon, and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
It is best that you contact one of the organizations listed and find a community legal clinic near you for legal advice tailored to your situation. We hope this information is helpful. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to post them here.
Sincerely,
Your Settlement.Org Team
