Do they Need to Submit a New File?

Hello,
This is for my sister daughter. She got married to Canadian Citizen.
It is arranged and religious marriage.
Her in laws are in India and she is also in India. Her husband sponsored her and application approved she got file number.
Then her in laws fall sick and both husband & wife decided to withdraw her sponsorship and it was done.
Now parents are doing ok.
It was a written letter to immigration dept stating that withdrawl is only becuase of family issues not an issue between husband and wife.
Paper work and letter submitted is very clear. We do not want to mess up her file.
Want to take each step carefully.
Question is - Application has to be resubmitted like a fresh start? or Existing file will be reinstated?
Thank you |

Mel,
Thank you for reply. I have 1 more question. Information from the new application is same as old one. Withdrawl reason is also clearly mentioned by sponsor and sponsor also mentioned that he will come back to reapply. So will there be speed up process or it will take 2-3 months period to get file number?
Today we called to Immigration Call Center. They mentioned that it will be 2-3 months same as initial process. is it correct?
Submitting medicals will help to speed up?
Thank you Radha
