Sponsoring Spouse

Hello All,
I am a Canadian Citizen sponsoring my spouse for PR.She has lived in Canada now for over 7 years through various working permits.
As part of the application to sponsor you are required to include an "original option C" from the most recent taxation filing Although I have ordered the form it will not arrive before her current open work permit expires snd with it her Status in Canada.
We only have days left to file, can I included all of my pay stubs and T4 from 2014 along with a note explaining the situation.
One more short question. Do we also file a "Application to Change Conditions" form in the Sponsorship package?
Please advise.

Anna,
Thanks for the quick reply...much appreciated. I had to submit the application as is without the Option-C form but as mentioned I included the last 12 months pay stubs, a T4 and a receipt from CRA as proof of e-file submission. I have read many posts from others in the same boat, who submitted with Pay stubs and T4 and were OK.
Respectfully,
John

Extension of OWP

Hello all,
We submitted our application for Inland Spousal Sponsorship for my wife last week. It was confirmed "delivered" last Thursday (April 30.2015) by Canada Post Courier. We live in Calgary,Alberta.
My wife's OWP expires tomorrow (Tuesday May 05, 2015). From varies recent posts and articles written on-line http://bcimmigrationnewsletter.com/work-permits-and-implied-status-spousal-inland/ from various sources we understand that because we submitted both the Inland Spousal Sponsorship and the Application to Change Conditions or Extend your Stay as a Worker before her OWP expired that my wife can continue working while theapplications are processed? Is this true?
The sponsorship and Change Conditions, Extend your stay as a worker were both submitted in the same package as the new rules dictate.
Any help is appreciated,
Regards,
John |

OWP Extension and Receipt not Returned

Hello,
My wife and I live in Calgary, Alberta.
At the end of April I applied for Inland Spousal Sponsorship, PR and Extension of OWP for my wife. At the time the applications were (all in the same large envelope) filed and received by CIC Mississauga my wife still had Status with her OWP. July 09 we received the Package back from CIC with instructions to correct a mistake in the Dependent section and re-submit. All forms were returned to us for correction except the Extension for OWP application and the receipt for payment of that application
Why would that application not be returned with the rest of the package? The entire package was only stamped by CIC as received on a date before my wife's Status expired.
Since receiving the package back with request to fix and re-submit we have applied online for a Restoration of Visitors Visa. My wife has gone from having Status when we first applied to "Out of Status" by the time the package was opened and the package was returned to us for correction/re-submit.
I have read numerous posts regarding a court ruling and the the manner in which CIC was dismissing incomplete applications as "not officially received". Is there a chance that having our application stamped by CIC as "received" prior to the date my wife's status expired, would in fact allow her to be still in status?
Thanks in advance,
John |

OWP Extension and Receipt not Returned

Mel,
Thanks for the quick reply...much appreciated. The reason we applied for the Extension/Change of Conditions was because the CIC Help Desk said it was the correct application to submit. This made sense at the time because my wife was, at the time, working under and Open Work Permit that was still valid. This application, along with the Inland Spousal Sponsorship were all submitted together in one large envelope. Given that she was already under a OWP that was still in effect, did wwe use the correct form?
Thanks in advance,
John
I'm not sure why the OWP extension and receipt were not returned. However you should have applied for an OWP - not an extension to an OWP. When you resubmit the inland application, you should include an OWP application (not an extension).
If your entire inland application was refused, then unfortunately this means CIC is going to treat the application as a brand new application when you resubmit it. The original date it was received won't be considered. The application "received date" will be the date the application is received by CIC the second time.

OWP included with Spousal Sponsorship

Good morning,
My wife and I applied for Inland Spousal Sponsorship back on July 29.2015. We included an application for OWP with the PR application. We received official confirmation from CIC on Oct 31.2015 that our application(s) were received. It is our understanding, that through the 1 yesr Pilot program started in the fall of 2014, CIC will attempt to issue OWP within 4 months from the date the courier delivers the application(s). Is this timeline correct? My wife is currently in status through a Visitors Visa. I am a Canadian Citizen by birth.
Thanks in advance,

Good morning,
We have submitted all requested docs to IRCC, including Medical and Police Clearance. Sponsorship has been approved. How long does it take to get the final request to come in for PR to be finalized?
Thanks in Advance

Received PR Decision

Good morning,
We finally received a letter approving PR for my wife. They have requested we come to the CIC office in Calgary later this week and are to bring her PP, Request letter and OWP. Great news! We applied July 29, 2015, so the whole process has taken 18 months.I have a question regarding the process. Our application was Inland and my wife is originally from Mexico. We listed on the application her 2 children from her first marriage, who still live in Mexico. Both qualified as Dependents as they were both under 19 years of age, In late December 2016, my wife (already living with me in Canada) and her two children in Mexico received an official request from CIC to get their Medicals from Panel doctors. My wife completed hers in Canada and the children had theirs done in Mexico. All three results were sent electronically to CIC. In December CIC sent requests for my wife to get a Security check in Canada and her daughter to get the same through the PGR in Mexico. They didn't request one for her son because ( (we assume), he is under 18. Both Police checks were clean and couriered to CIC, both received.
We are using and agency for this application and upon getting the letter of approval for my wife to come to Calgary to receive her PR, we contacted our agent and asked "what about the kids"? The agent said that the PR was only for my wife and that we could apply later for the kids if we wanted.
My question is this. Why would CIC make the kids go through the medical and security clearance only to support the PR for my wife. As part of the medical, both kids were subjected to chest xrays (both clean) and the security check for her daughter who is 18. The cost of the medicals in Mexico were in US funds and expensive and it doesn't seem right to subject someone to the Xray process if it was only to help complete my wife's PR.
My agent is not very forthcoming with an explanation of why the kids were put through the time, trouble and expense of all this if they are not receiving a PR in the end.
Please help explain this to me,
Thanks in advance,

PMM,
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. The children were in fact marked as non accompanying. Can we sponsor the children now? If I understand correctly, because they went through the Medical, Police clearance etc., we are able to sponsor them. Does my wife, who will receive her PR this a.m. act as the Sponsor, do I, or do we both? Do you have a link to the application we might use to sponsor the children? We would like to handle the application ourselves, our experience with our current agent was less than ideal.
Thanks for all the help,

PMM,
Thanks for taking the time to respond and give help to so many. When we attended our scheduled time today with the CIC officer, she noticed that the kids were listed as non accompanying. We told her that at the time of the original application the children showed no interest in coming to Canada but after a 3 month visit last summer they have changed their minds. She said, if you like we can postpone your wife's landing today and add both children who are "locked in" under 19 years of age. The file remains open, and we add the children for only a cost of $150.00 for each child. CIC will send us the forms we need to complete immediately, the original officer will continue to work the case and if we're lucky the medicals and Police Clearance will still be valid. The whole process can happen (no promises) very quickly and it's like we had indicated they were accompanying from the start.
We were so lucky to have such a well informed CIC officer today. She we friendly, compassionate and verified everything with her superiors before we agreed. This is an option that my agent never suggested, his response was to suggest my wife Land and then come and see him to start a brand new application. The landing officer assured us that we did not need a agent for the small amount that needs to be completed and we filled out forms to remove the agent as our rep.
Have you ever heard of adding the kids after the original application has been filed? We are so grateful to everyone including you PMM
Thanks again,
John |

Good morning. I am sponsoring my wife inland for PR. She currently holds a valid OWP. Her OWP expires on July 07 2017 and we would like to apply for an extension of her OWP now. What is the appropriate application or link to the application to apply?
Also, is it possible to apply for the OWP extension online or is it a paper application?
Thanks in advance,
John |

Hello and thanks for the response,
We just sent the application for OWP extension to Vegreville, Alberta. This is the location given from IRCC's website. Our PR will be completed soon and this extension is only to maintain my wife's status while we wait for her PR. You didn't mention Vegreville in your response, did we send the application to the wrong IRCC offices?
Thanks,
John |
