Hi, I arrived in Canada on 10th September 2010. The PR card arrived later and is valid from 14th October 2010 to 14th October 2015.
My question is, I can fulfill the 730 days of physical presence before the card expires, but if the five year period is calculated from 10th September, I miss out on 10 days. Will this pose a problem.

Hi this is Subhashini again. Our delay was because my mother was not well and she passed away in November. There was no one else to look after her as I was only child, can we forward this as for humanitarian grounds. Would greatly appreciate a quick reply

Actually I am currently here in Canada and didn't have any problem in entering the country. I was so under the false impression that I could make up the 730 days before the card expires. SO will i be able to appeal when I apply for renewal as I cannot make up for the time between the day I entered Canada and five years hence. I complete the five years on 10th September but my card is valid till October.
