I just wanna ask about the situation of my friend.

We back 2007 she get married with her boyfriend (just a secret married)in the Philippines and they only spent time one night and tomorrow after got her flight to HK.

So from 2007 since she went back to HK they had fight until she found that her boyfriend had a live in partner in the Philippines and since then they have no more communication.
Last 2008 She decided to apply in Canada as a caregiver and got her visa on 2009 in Canada.

So from 2007 that they got married with her boyfriend She never knew that their married was legal because she thought it was not in the record and she never check in the National Statistic office.

And when she applied here she never declared she was married and never change anything.

And almost 2 years now that she got her permanent resident here but she is still single and never change anything.

My concerned is how can she change her status here as a married and she is more than 6 years staying here.

And they have no more communication with him since before and she never know where he was and also she can't file divorce here because she is single.

What is the best thing she can do?

She file annulment in the Philippines,Is that a good idea?

And for example the annulment is done can she remarry and sponsor someone as her spouse?

I hope someone can give her a legal advice and help her situation.
