Withdrawing my Citizenship Application

I applied for my citizenship in 2011 when I had about 180 days less than required 1095 days, due to be surrounded by friends who hadn't filled their 1095 days and got their citizenship with no pain.
I got my citizenship test in 2013 and the lady who interviewed me got me the RQ since I didn't present her my expired passport that had most of the required days in. Since then my file is in process.
I know that I did a big mistake.
This pain of waiting is the worst issue I'm dealing with but what can I do.
It's been a few months that I am considering to withdraw my application and reapply for it.
Since June that the new law of 4 years out of 6 been executed, I am eligible but I wait so I can present all the required days in the passports I can present to ICC. My decision is not to admit that I had 180 days short in my previous application. And stick to the fact that right now I am fully eligible.
Somewhere in your website I read that it's good to admit that you misrepresent ICC in the reason section in withdrawal form.
But I strongly believe it's not logical to admit to your lie. I want to know whether you think like me? And if not what are your reasons?
Besides I don't have a perfect condition in representing my second citizenship file since I was never employed and my proof of residency are more of passive like random doctor visits, or random classes that I attend and credit card bills. I also travel a lot.
But I do have all of my passports for the past six years and based on a precised calculation I'll be here for 4 years and 3 months out of six at the time of my reapplying. |

Hi Anna, Thank you very much for your reply. but I wrote here in order to get some advice. I filled the RQ and send it to CIC van on February 2013 and since then in process. About two years ago according to some incidents I mistakenly removed my online access and each time I have to call CIC in order to check my status and that is a pain also. Recently they become so hesitant to check the status of my application and they just keep saying to me to go online and when I told them I don't have online access they responded so you have to contact webmaster in order to activate it and solve the issue. Although I feel that maybe in a few months I'll have my results and I still have hopes that with the new government maybe they take it more easy for some one like me who lives in this country for almost 6 years out of the 8 years I immigrated to Canada, I am still considering to withdraw it to just get out of this waiting with no cooperation from their call center. I asked them that how long will it take to withdraw an application they did not answer! I asked which office should I mail my withdrawal letter as suggested on the website to call and ask and again they did not answer and the person becomes angry and arrogant as I repeated the question. Can you suggest me what should I do? Do you think that withdrawing and applying again is my best option? Or wait although I know I have almost 6 months short in my application. After talking to these agents I am afraid if it took so long to withdraw an application isn't it better to wait for it. Some where I read that a person who called to follow up with regards to withdrawal of his application has been told that it might take up to six months!!!!! Now we are at the end of December and with upcoming holidays can you give me an estimation that how long will it take for CIC to process my withdrawal? And if I reapply is the waiting time still around 12 months? I truly appreciate any guidance. Dana |
