Can my Proof of Funds be in US dollars?

I know from the CIC website that funds can be brought in to Canada in the following forms at landing:
Cash
Securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills)
Negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers’ drafts, cheques, travelers’ cheques or money orders)
My question is if it's in cash does it matter what currency it is? Specifically, is it allowed to bring all the currency in USD? Are there any limitations to this? |

I understand that if you have a license from select countries, you can simply get the Toronto license without any tests or exams.
Does this apply for a driver's license from USA? |

Landing - Entering via border crossing in USA

Has anyone landed in Canada through a border crossing in buffalo or any other crossing in USA?
Any advise or experiences?
Aside from PR paperwork/passports and paper work for personal belongings and cash, is there anything else that we need to have? Want to avoid any surprises and cross over smoothly. |
