Topic: Can my friend courier my PR card to me abroad?

Hi,

I landed in Toronto on May 2, 2016 for my PR using the COPR and the immigrant visa. I had to leave for work few days later.
I have a valid business visa. I am travelling to Canada soon for work reasons. Can I enter on business visa and pick-up my PR card whilst there, or do I have to get a PRTD ?

When the immigration officer cancelled by immigrant visa upon landing (in May), I asked him if the business visa will become void as I am becoming a PR. His response was that it doesn't become void.

I would appreciate some clarity on this issue. Thank you
