Waiting for Sponsor - can I stay in Canada?

Apologies if this is in the wrong section - please move if appropriate.
My wife is a Canadian citizen. She will be sponsoring me for Canadian citizenship. Can we move to Canada while the sponsorship application is in process?
I work full time and will continue to do so. As a business consultant, it makes no difference where I live, as long as I am near an airport.
I have read that it will take about 12 months to process sponsored application, but we would like to relocate before that.
Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated! |

Liquor Collection - Taxes? Duties?

Hello! I have received my CoPR, and will be moving from the US to Ontario in the next few weeks. I have a collection of sealed liquor bottles (about 20 or so) which I have collected during my travels around the world. Some from as far away as China!
I would like to take this collection with me, preferably in the moving truck along with my furniture, etc. Will I have any issues bringing them in? Taxes? Duties? Etc.?
