Hi, My father-in-law is a Canadian citizen but has been living in the USA for 30+ yrs. We recently moved him back to Canada as he was all alone there and it made sense to be close to his family. We tried to get him to re-apply for OHIP as he still qualifies but he has not done that - he is refusing to sign form and submit. He is now becoming ill because he has refused to take his medications that he brought with him and the effects are beginning to show. We fear that we are going to require medical assistance for him very soon. He is very stubborn and is making it difficult for us to help him. My question is what happens if we have to admit him to a hospital and he does not have OHIP?
