I have lived and worked at the same job in ONTARIO for 5.5 years only leaving for short vacations.
I left Tuesday 29th August 2018 for a family wedding in Scotland not realizing my PR card had expired by 3months.
I was refused boarding by Air Canada to return home to TORONTO and that’s when I found out my card had expired. I have urgently applied for a PRTD via the London office of VFS.
My application was submitted 4 days ago after my husband scanned to me copies of utility bills & pay slips showing a month for each year over the 5 years. Five years of notice of tax assessment forms and I was able to download my T4’s for all 5 years and I got a letter from my employer stating I have the same job for 5years and I also submitted bank statements again showing a span of 5 years (not one for every month but one for a random month for each year up to the end of August).
My question is how long will it take for the PRTD to be granted (they marked it urgent) and is there any chance it will be rejected. I am stressed out as I desperately want to go home to my job, husband, dog who is in a kennel and my life which is in ONTARIO.
Also I didn’t put vacations on the form as I thought that the residency details meant time living elsewhere which I haven’t for 5.5 years but even with my days on vacation my days in Canada over 5 years is approx 1,700 as it is my permanent home.
I know I am being impatient but this is stressing me out and I just want to go home. Please advise what you think the outcome will be.
