Special Case Processing Time Timeline

I have tried to send a letter with the immigration to follow up an application for family sponsorship as follows:

I would like to request for the status of my permanent residence application and family sponsorship. I have submitted the application in your office in April 2015 with a confirmation receipt dated May 5, 2015. Based on the current processing time in your website, for the application submitted before December 7, 2016, the case of my application would appear as complex. However, none of the situations apply in my application for permanent residence as indicated in the list of complex issues pertaining to the complex permanent application case.

I would therefore appreciate if you can enlighten us on the status of my application since it has been more than three years since the initial submission of the application. Please let me know if there’s anything I still need to submit in order to expedite the process.

I did not get the correct response. Does anyone know what I should do next? Should I wait forever?

Thanks.
