Topic: Student Health Insurance Required even with OHIP?

Good day, I am an international student, and I recently got OHIP through my wife as she has an open work permit. I also have private health insurance from my school. However, I asked my school if they could remove the private health insurance as I already have my OHIP coverage until I graduate, and they said that it is not possible as it is required on my study permit. In my understanding, I already have health insurance through OHIP, so another health insurance is not necessary.

Kindly confirm if it's true that they can't remove private health insurance.
