Canadian Citizenship

Hello Guys, I am a Canadian Permanent resident I got my PR card in 2010 I am eligible to apply for citizenship in 2015.When I got my PR card the residency requirements are different now I am hearing about the new bill on Immigration and citizenship which has different requirements when I got my PR card CIC letter stated different requirements of Residency.I would like to know whether the new rules are going to be applied on new immigrants who come and land in future.I belive it is very unfair to imply new rules to the existing immigrants who are given PR cards with old requirements and they made landing based on old requirements. Please clarify my query.
Thanks

Hello Anna, Thanks for for your reply if someone has been asked to write the Citizenship test without asking about RQ before the test is there a possibility RQ will be asked after the test is done successfully I mean the CIC is O.K with everything in the application process before asking to write the test. Please reply to my query. |

Canadian Citizenship - Intent to Reside?

Hello Sir,
I and my wife made a landing and took our PR cards and went back to our native countries after couple of years I alone came back to Canada and fulfilled all the requirements for Citizenship and applied for it.
My wife didn"t come back with me to canada as she was a doctor and was continuing her practise back home she eventually lost the Permanent Residence status also my daughter was born in my native country.
I am done with my citizenship test last Oct-2017 till now I didn"t hear about my Oath Ceremony but in Feb-2018 CIC called me on phone and asked me about my wife and why I didn"t sponsor my daughter which I mentioned in the family particulars of my application.
I gave the reason that she is still pursuing her medical profession and I will sponsor my daughter and wife together once she is done with her practise.
Till now I didn"t hear anything from them it is 14 months past I want to know for the situation I am in will I be granted or refused my Citizenship because my wife lost the PR status and my family is not here.
As for my knowledge goes the new rules which came last Oct-2017 removed the INTENT To Reside Clause if granted citizenship in the citizenship application.

Hello Sir,
I became a Canadian citizen last year June 2018 but due to some irreconcilable differences with my wife she opted for divorce we got separated in last Sept-2019 in India.
She was also a permanent resident as both of us were landed immigrants in 2010 she didn't stay much in Canada and her Permanent residency got expired long before we got divorced she is not interested to come to Canada which is one of the reasons for our differences and
I would like to know what will happen if I remarry and I have my new wife and children will the children of my new wife automatically become Canadian citizens as I am a Canadian citizen.
Please reply to my query. Thanks. |
