- Tenancies Act does not apply to "Units that are used on a seasonal or temporary basis"
Does this include an instance where we are renting from the owner of the house, a separate basement (our own bathroom and kitchen), but paying month-to-month because he prefers not to have a signed lease? (we intend 4-6 months at this location, we discussed at outset).
Would he be able to evict us on little/no notice based on a whim? Or could we appeal to the board? |

If you are a refugee claimant on a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) such as a visitor visa or work permit, you can do a short-term course while your temporary resident visa is valid. If you take a course that is more than 6 months long, you will need to apply for a study permit.
Do you have a TRV yet? If not, that would be your first step. |
