Hello Zufiqar,

You are welcome.

We thought you were asking because you were trying to avoid the possibility of getting an RQ as well.

Like we stated above, according to a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre Representative, generally, you should include what you are asked to include. Therefore, if you are asked to include the addresses and locations where you stayed, you should include it.

The CIC Application for Canadian citizenship under subsection 5(1) — Adults 18 years of age and older (CIT 0002) guide states,

Question 6E

If you were residing, employed or attending school outside Canada, you must also list all your foreign addresses, including the postal codes.

We suggest that you contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly for some additional information on how best to proceed.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Eligible for OHIP?

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

You may be able to find some helpful information in our Settlement.Org Who is eligible for OHIP? article.

Here is an excerpt,

You must be able to answer "yes" to at least 1 of these statements:

Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents

-You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
-You are a "protected person," also called a convention refugee.
-You are registered as an Indian under the Indian Act. (This is for aboriginal people of Canada.)
-You applied for permanent residence and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada. This means that you have "approval-in-principle."
-You have applied for a grant of citizenship under section 5.1 of the Citizenship Act (Canada). CIC confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for citizenship. (This is for children adopted internationally by Canadian citizens.)

From the requirements listed, it does not seem as though they would be eligible.

You can find some additional information in our Settlement.Org Who is eligible for OHIP? article.

Issue with the Citizenship Test Officer

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and questions with us.

It is unfortunate that you have had to experience this.

You can find some information on what the key duties of a Citizenship Officer is in the CIC CP2 Decision Making Operations Manual.

1.17. Key duties of citizenship officer

A. The officer evaluates the documentation and information gathered and recorded by him or herself and by others (CPC Sydney, Immigration, etc.).

B. The officer must ensure the evidence is satisfactory to him or herself before submitting the file to a judge. In other words, the evidence necessary to grant citizenship must be available to the officer.

C. An officer submits the file to the judge only when there is enough evidence on file to allow the judge to make a decision. The officer may request more information or evidence from the client when it is not clear that the subject has complied with regulatory requirements.

D. The officer ensures all evidence is available to the judge. The file must contain any relevant information gathered by CIC in its investigations such as records of conversations with port of entry officials regarding a client’s immigration status or residence in Canada.

E. The officer must make a decision about the grant of citizenship based on the judge’s determination. The citizenship officer refers the file to Case Management Branch (Litigation Management) if the officer believes the Minister may wish to exercise his right of appeal.

We hope that if there are any other users who may have unfortunately experienced something similar share their comments with you.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation with us.

Regarding your spouse's PR and your questions about retaining a visitor visa, it is best if you contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) directly for information specific to your situation.

Regarding your questions about divorce, you can find some information in the Marriage and Divorce publication from the Family Law Education for Women website.

Here is an excerpt,

"Getting a divorce in Canada

There is one law about divorce for everyone in Canada. It is called the Divorce Act. No matter where you live in Canada, the law and the process of getting a divorce are the same.

You must apply for a divorce in family court. Either you or your spouse can file the application or both of you can file a joint application. Your application can ask for just a divorce, or it can ask the court to decide about custody, support and how to divide property. These are called claims for corollary relief.

When you apply for a divorce, you must show that your marriage has broken down. There are three ways to do this. The most common way is when you and your spouse have been living separate and apart for at least one year before you applied for a divorce. You can live “separate and apart” in the same house if you no longer behave as though you are married.

It is also possible to get a divorce if one of you has committed adultery or your spouse has been so physically or mentally cruel that you can no longer live together."

In terms of filing in Ontario, it does not matter if you were married in another province or country.

You can apply for divorce if you have been living in Ontario for at least one year.

Only one spouse must reside in the Province of Ontario for at least a year before the divorce is granted.

In your situation, we suggest that you speak to a lawyer regarding your situation if necessary. You can contact an Information and Referral Coordinator through the nearest Family Law Information Centre (FLIC). Information and Referral Coordinators are available at certain locations.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
