We can appreciate that you would be concerned about your financial situation.

Immigration Consultation Course - On-Line vs Not
Moderator

Hello Kabita,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
It is great that you are looking into what the possible differences and pros/cons of each option are.
In terms of the differences, it would be important to research the reputation and reviews of the schools you are considering.
In many cases, if you go with a more reputable, established school, they may have both options and share the same format/quality of instruction and instructors for either option.
In this case, you may be able to take some of the required courses in class and the others on-line. It would all depend on which college and your schedule.
There are certainly advantages on taking the on-line option. One of the major reasons is the convenience since it allows you to complete the coursework on your own schedule and at your own pace.
In most cases the on-line courses are completed through on-line discussions, tests and other virtual learning activities. In these type of courses, the on-line instructors are available via e-mail, phone and web conferencing. One disadvantage is that there is limited interaction and access to instructors and no personal contact with other students.
With the in-class options, they offer the opportunity to listen to the instructor, participate in hands-on activities, live discussions and case studies.
Some of the schools offering the Immigration Consultant Certificate offer both in-class and on-line options. It may be helpful to look into any reviews of their courses and classes. As stated above, you may have the opportunity to take some of the required courses as in-class and some as on-line.
In most cases, the final exams are scheduled on a specific date at the end of the course. Generally, the larger colleges have an in-class requirement for the exams, even if you completed the on-line course.
We hope that others can share their suggestions and comments regarding any experiences they may have had.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
You can find some helpful information in our Settlement.Org What do I need to know about travelling to the United States? article.
Here is an excerpt,
If you are a permanent resident of Canada you may need to obtain a non-immigrant visa in order to enter the US. You must get a visa from the American authorities before you enter the US. It is a good idea to apply well ahead of the time you plan to travel.
You must also have a valid passport from your country of citizenship.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
