Hello,
I am coming to Canada (Toronto) on April, 2016. I have my immigrant visa. I am coming to canada on FSWP program. I am coming with my family. But unfortunately we have to return back very soon. So, while returning we will don't have our PR card. So, my question is how can I get the PR card outside canada?? Can my sister send me the PR card outside of Canada by canadapost or DHL/Fedex service?? Please let me know. It will be very helpful for me. |

Can my friend courier my PR card to me abroad?

Hello,
I send email to both Fedex Canda and DHL canada office. Fedex said that, it is legal to send the PR card outside of canada. but there may be some delays for the customs. DHL said that, they will send the PR card to the emabassy or high commission of canada in that particular country. But you people are saying that, customs can seize the card. what can i do now?? can you please give us a solid information??
Hiya,
Thanks for sharing your situation with us.
Neither us nor CIC recommend mailing or couriering your PR Card to a location outside Canada. The reasons are: 1. The card could be lost 2. The card could be stolen 3. Your identity could be stolen if a dishonest person gets hold of your PR Card while enroute 4. Factors beyond your control could significantly delay the delivery of the card (i.e. service strike, strife, etc.)
Further, CIC representatives have stated "there is an understanding between Canada Post and CIC that if a PR card is found to be internationally bound, then they have the right to intercept and return it to CIC." Also, there is a chance that the customs officials at the other end may seize the mail for whatever reason.
If you send the card outside of Canada, you do so at your own risk.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question and/or situation.

PR: Cannot meet the Residency Requirement.

Hello,
I am Mohammad. I am a permanent resident. I have landed on Canada April, 2016 and returned back 8 May, 2016.
Currently I am in Japan. Me and my wife is doing PhD in Japan and it will be finished on 2019 (at the end of 2019 estimated).
So, when we will back to Canada we will not be able to meet the 730 days residency requirements.
What will be the consequence???
Our PR status will be revoked??
How to stop that??
How to inform CIC about our situation so, that there will be no problem in the future.
Please let me know.
Thanking you-
Mohammad |
